    Couple old cows

    I don't now why they are not as popular in our show ring as black Angus. They are supposed to be more docile and easier to work with too. I don't have experience with beef cattle, only raising bottle calves and a couple replacement dairy heifers.

    Amazing that the libs (who wouldn't know a hard labor job if it hit them in the face) want to blame the people producing their food. Isn't that LITERALLY" biting the hand that feeds you"? The majority of pollution in the world (which I assume includes methane) is produced by China and India...

    Had an interesting discussion with a retired dairy farmer from central valley of Cal.

    Bought mixed Angus/Holstein calves for years to raise as veal for fairs (big 4-H dairy goat herd needed to stay in milk all year). Also bought Holstein bull calves to raise for auction outside of fair. 30 years ago dairy farmers were using Angus bulls on their first fresheners for easier...

    Working momma

    You show what can be accomplished with genetics and knowing how to breed good animals. Good genetics don't need tons of special grain and feed. The best cattle genetics (or any livestock genetics) should be able to be raised in an everyday grazing situation without a lot of extra supplements...

    What a day

    We had a dairy goat that would stop labor and delivery if we went to look in and saw her. She wanted to keep her kids (we always took them away since she was kept for milk). LOL
