I'd say a brangus or a simmi bull for good quality replacement heifers in kentucky. Here in MS I'd use a brahman, brangus, or some other bull with brahman influence.

I love cross bulls on commercial cows. I am using a half hereford half brangus bull on brangus cows and the calves are phenomenal. The gert hereford cross should be a great bull.

How do y'all think a black limousine bull would do over some tigers or brangus cows? I would like to have the growth that a continental bull offers but keep the black hide that dominates today's market.

Sorry for not replying to you guys earlier but I got off the forum for a while due to being out of state and numerous other things. If you replied thank you all for your input. I decided not to go with the bull and stick with a brangus and ultrablack bulls.

What kind of calves would a tigerstripe bull have if he breeds brangus and brangus baldies? I found a good deal on one and I'm wondering if it would be a good investment since I could be looking for a bull in the next year or so.

It depends where you are and how you'll be raising them. Grass fed and finished or grain fed. If you are in the south a little ear won't hurt. If grass fed the most popular breed around here is the belted galloway. If you are grain finishing i would go char x angus and get the smokey.

Most of the cows I have are HerfxBrangus baldies and they are some phenomenal cows. They are bred to a brangus bull and they raise some scale mashers. I would say the biggest bonus is the milk production and quick rebreeding.
