Is it the saddle or pad?

I have a horse that I can only ride him with 100% wool. It does not matter if is wool felt pad or the fluffly type, as long as it is wool it works. Any thing else will slip right our from under my saddle. If you pet him, his hair always feels like you put show shine on it, slippery,shinny...

    Mounting?

Maybe the saddle digs into her when you go to get on. Try using a mounting block and see if she continues to do it. Of course she will the first few times but maybe after she realizes that you are not hurting her when you get on then she will stand. It could be a long shot but you never know...

    Mounting?

When you are getting on, are you kicking her with your toe? If you are not, then just practice getting on and off. When you get on, stop and make her stand, get off and try it again. Keep doing it until she starts to stand. If she does not catch on to what you are asking maybe wait until the...

    experience with A.I.

Horses are extremley hard to AI off the breeding facility. I have not heard of many people having good luck with it unless they have the horse boarded at a Reproductive center that specializes in AI of Horses. They monitor the mares several times a day to see what stage she is in and then...

    Horse can't eat hay!

I have a friend that has a old horse with missing teeth also. She tried to use a garden shreder/chipper. It works but you have to have the bag on it or the dust from the hay goes everywhere. She decided it was easier to use Chop purchased from the feed store.

The neoprene pad that you are talking about is called tacky tack. It is sorda a waffle weave and does work really well. Carrie, Saddle fitting is a huge a problem. If your horse looks more like the walker body type and moves out like that then you are faced with the extra shoulder movement...

On DreamHorse.com there is a place for you to post lost or stolen horses. Maybe you may find a photo of the horse on it. You could also post that you found one with no brand on it. In our area we sometimes micro chip our horses, dogs, and cats. They have scanners that read the information...
