Women changing...or not changing... their last name

Hmmm.... well that got some opinions. lol. I do appreciate y'all's input. Seriously. Bit more background... I do honestly want opinions on the topic; believe me, I don't come out of months/years of minimal posting to ask a personal question on a forum if I just want validation. LOL. Yup, it'd...

Women changing...or not changing... their last name

His last name... I don't have any problem with that. I figure there's enough families out there where parents and kids have different last names that it shouldn't be a big deal for school etc. If I were to add his last name and have two last names... Dr MM maiden name married name... that would...

Women changing...or not changing... their last name

Thanks all! Knew you'd have good input. Quick response since I got up late this morning and have to leave for work in a few...will get a longer response later. He says it's a 9. I think it's a 10 but he's reserving that "10" in case there's some future situation he wants to assign it to. lol...

Women changing...or not changing... their last name

Old time poster.....some of you hopefully remember me. I try to still swing by once in awhile. Question for the board about women changing last names, or not changing last names. :help: Quick background, MM is getting married! MM, as many of you know, is Dr. MM and has been that way...

    Good Western Novelist

Found the first Kelton book you mentioned and put it on hold at the library. Willing to give about anything a try once. ;-) I've read Cormac...he's good but takes some getting used to as I think he missed the class on punctuation. lol.

    Good Western Novelist

Craig Johnson - Walt Longmire series - is another option y'all haven't listed yet. I've only read one so far, but so far so good. I'm really picky about my books; I have so little free time that I'm sure not reading a book unless it's worth the time. I've read through all the L'Amour books...

    How many coats of paint....

There's a thought! Actually all I know - per the neighbors - is that the last occupants had "kids" who they let run around the front yard in their birthday suits. And the mom was also spotted doing the same. I actually live in a pretty decent neighborhood, seriously! I think...

    How many coats of paint....

Haha Jo. You know if I thought I could get away with it I might, but I have so many entertaining guy stories from the last four months of living in this area - and that's not even counting the ones from work, where I work with 200 Hispanic guys, who tell me I should get a Hispanic boyfriend so...

    How many coats of paint....

The red raised my eyebrows a little too... it's not the master bedroom, it's one of the guest rooms. It's not even well done, and the previous occupants apparently used the wall as a dart board, or else couldn't figure out where they wanted to tack their pictures. It's a little embarrassing to...

    How many coats of paint....

...in cream or a similar color would it take to cover up red walls? Now that daylights savings time is limiting my outdoor activities after work, guess it's time to work on the inside of the house. Two coats? 4 coats? If it's a 10x14'-ish room (bedroom, painted red, seriously?) and I want...

    Electric wiring question

I re read what was said about the previous 50 amp receptacle. Got it. I just read too quick last time. Well that and it's tough typing and reading on the phone. Lol. Thanks for the responses. Dryer is running now and I feel much better about this lol.

    Electric wiring question

The dryer cord was an original that came on the dryer. I suspect replacing the cord would be easier than what I did. Haha.

The neutral... white cord? Yes got it. The outlet said where the white went too lol.

    Electric wiring question

I have absolutely no idea what gauge the wiring is though. Lol. That's way out of my league.

    Electric wiring question

The breaker box says the dryer switches are 30 amps. Huh. Dryer also says it's 30 amps. I'm learning all kinds of stuff. Lol. So if there was a 50 amp outlet on before that would be a problem sounds like...

    Electric wiring question

So I replaced a 50 amp 3 prong dryer outlet with a 30 amp 3 prong dryer outlet. I'm pretty handy but I hate playing with electricity and my idea of a fun evening is not squished behind a dryer with power tools. Is this going to be ok? They don't make 50 amp outlets in the style I needed and they...

    9 day countdown...

It's a place where they raise dairy calves from day-olds to 350lbs, or 500lbs, and then send them back to the dairy they came from. Some dairies raise their own replacements - the ones that don't, either sell them initially or have a calf ranch contracted to raise them. Some calf ranches also...

    9 day countdown...

It will be a thousand times better on every level Dave, I'd just anticipated and prepared for that feedlot so long that it was almost a little difficult to convince myself to take this job. LOL. But a calf ranch is similar to a feedlot, just a different age group of cattle, and they have so much...
