An employee of mine bought a .45 auto and was always messing with it. It took only one week for him to shoot himself in the foot! Out of work for a month.
I have 2 , the Browning BAR is a little more pleasant to shoot than the Weatherby bolt action that is Magna-Ported. I have developed a good accurate load for the BAR.
I've been shooting a Browning BAR .338 WIN. MAG for 35 years. Real accurate and the auto-loader absorbs a lot of recoil. I've killed 3 moose and 7 elk, 210 gr. Nobler Partion does the job.
I'm not saying it's killing elk, but the logging roads on the coast get sprayed.
The thing I noticed in Montana the past few years is all the elk cows without a calf because they are stress out by the wolves . My opinion only.
