Thought i would give an update. I sold this heifer(cow) and her 7 month old calf. He never really grew and he even had warts around one of his eyes. I was surprised they sold em as a pair.

Poor thing looks like he (she?) Just got berated for simply bringing you a gift 😜😜

Pretty good showing at Fairview tonight. I would have liked to have gone but didnt work out that way. The char bull would make an ok steer and those bull prices, you can find better for cheaper. Did all the cows sell well? Guess u didnt pick up that mini pair😜😜

Pretty interesting. I had a more tight calving window but bull went bad in this pasture and ended up with a sizeable gap as you can see.

Very similar here as well. Had a few cows calve in the 10.5 month range compared to last year ('23, '22 calving dates): Feb 25, Apr 15 Mar 12, May 10 Jun 20, Aug 3 Most gained 20-30 days. Something in the air indeed.lol

Ran into an issue or two. Heifer is not making much milk, but some as i saw the little guy last night with a milk mustache. The other day he was really straining while pooing; it was semi solid with blood. Gave him some electrolytes and hes doing better. Poo looks more normal but still...

Nope, car wreck in OKC. Hydroplaned then t-boned. I was a passenger, wearing a seatbelt, only one taken to the hospital. I hate riding with other people, especially in a car; this just reinforces my opinion on that.lol that was my first thought, calving ease herd sire😂😂

I bought a heifer from OKC West (El Reno) on May 24th. She weighed 675 and they called her 6 mos bred. Got her for $1.20/lb. Gamble, yes, but I thought what the heck. She calved the other day, Aug 26th. First 2 pics is when i bought her.

Always make me smile to see the earz almost being unbothered by the sun. And they usually, not always, have noticeably less flies on em as well.
