    Longhorn x Hereford Cross

😂😂 so a college vs thousands of longtime longhorn breeders involved in two registered longhorn associations?
  2. Muddy

    Longhorn x Hereford Cross

I trust longtime breeders in longhorn groups on Facebook over your biased cherry picked data.

    Longhorn x Hereford Cross

Or or, ask the breeders in the longhorn groups on Facebook and they will be gladly answering your question about the African Horn gene. 💁‍♂️
  4. Muddy

    Longhorn x Hereford Cross

😂😂😂😂😂 Again, African Horn gene isn't that common in longhorn cattle. You're exaggerating it as usual.
  5. Muddy

    Longhorn x Hereford Cross

Caustic burno is incorrect on African Horn gene being common in the longhorns. Only a small percentage of longhorns carrying the African Horn gene and they usually have watusi in the background.

Can you cross a (original) Galloway Bull with Holstein Cow?

Knew a guy who bred his Galloway bull to several Holstein heifers for their first calf. The calves are smaller than Angus sired calves based by their birthweight.

    2018 Fourteenth Calf - Lock N Load 1143Y

    Longest bull streak....

Finally, the remaining cows gave us the heifers and three calves showing some promise as replacements but we will see in the fall.

    Longest bull streak....

I have never had a really long bull streak in the calving season. Out of 18 calves born this year, only two calves are heifers and we need heifers to replace the cows we're selling in fall. Just have 10 more cows to calving yet, so maybe they will give us heifers?

    Heifer with scar tissue

Hamburger her, we don't need more inferior individuals with her defect.
  16. Muddy

Twins, again. For the fourth time in a row...

I had a cow that has fifth set of twins. Usually fraternal twins, judging by the colors of the calves. Twins can be a curse.....but if a cow can raise both calves then I would say you have an extra calf to sell.

    Composite Bulls ?

Our sale barns will accept the mixed group if they are all same weight and sex. They usually sort off oddballs such as horned, frostbitten, longhorn/exotic markings or deformity.
