    Barenbrug fescue seed

Yes, I have decided to focus on cows that can thrive on K31 and forget about the rest. They are out there and I haven't found a better grass to tolerate multiple growing conditions. Thrive on what I've got or take a ride to the sale barn has become my new motto. (Except the one cow that my kids...

    Which Legume?

Sounds like clover is probably what we will stay with. We also have some lespedeza in one of our hay fields. Alfalfa doesn't stay long around here. I read that birds foot could be grown where alfalfa couldn't and was just curious if it had any major advantages over clover. Sounds like it...

    Which Legume?

Looking to add either some more clover or some birds foot trefoil to our predominately fescue pasture. We have some places that have a good bit of clover now but some that don't. Never tried the birds foot before so of those of you that have it or know much about it which do you prefer? And...

    Hemp/Dogbane

Any one else have trouble with this weed? We have it bad in a couple fields and it spreads like wildfire. We sprayed the biggest field last year and it isn't as bad but it isn't gone either. If you have any info on the best weed killers etc. please feel free to share.

    Feeding Hay ???

We should make it till late December or January before needing to feed hay. We had a good year for pasture. Plenty of rain. We also had a smaller herd this year than normal so we have got some replacements to enlarge the herd.

    Dogbane

Maybe this is only a problem here locally. I figured some of the others may have some experience with it.

    Dogbane

Any of you guys or gals have problems with this weed? I have read where it is poison but I know of very few farms around here that do not have it and they graze it and bale it with seemingly no problems. We sprayed an entire field this year with Crossbow and it killed it but we will see what...

Do people not think cattle are kept on grass?

It's sad that so many are ignorant of what goes on in the farming industry.
