I didn't buy these, seller got called into work at 4am the day I was supposed to drive over to get them. I went to sale barn and got two pair and a heavy bred heifer for what I was going to pay for those.

Had a guy tell me that he has a friend that drives for a feeder operation and any bull calf under 500lbs they prefer to be left a bull so that can cut them themselves. I don't know if there's any truth to that, just what he said.

Tuesday here 600-699 were up to 2.30, 550-600 were up to 2.45. The last bunch I hauled off hit right in the middle of the range, and they were good healthy calves. Hard to be upset with prices this high though.

He said the brangus bull is there sire. I'm considering passing on these, the calves are too small to be as old as they are and I can buy open pairs with bigger calves for the same price. The cows being bred is not a big deal to me as I have a reg bull that I can use.

You raise a good point. Assuming these cows were bred back 60days after calving and they are about 55days bred the calves should have been born sometime in mid May to early June. I have a calf about that same age, hereferd cross heifer born 6/7 and she *appears* to be about 80lbs heavier than...

They are worth a little more to me being able to buy off the farm and not taking the chance of them being run thru a sale barn. I've been there done that with bringing home IBR and other junk.

I think its a good deal for 3n1's, some pairs I've seen are that much with open cows.

These cows are about 2months bred.

Last week at my barn pairs were up as high as 2850. I'm not sure if that was a pair or 3n1's.

This year I bought older cows that needed fed and a little TLC. With vaccinations, good grass, and mineral I've a point or two of body condition score and look to have a pretty good profit.

I was gonna wait until December to sell mine, but I think i'm going to haul them off the 16th of this month.

We have stock cow sales the first Thursday of the month but they don't go any slower than a normal sale day. I may take them to it since its a "special" sale, they might bring more.
