Hydraulic drive hay-bine. Any one run one?

Sam Adams is good stuff,......but unfortunately it surpasses the $6.00-per-12-pack cost of oil patch beer.

    Basic Bale Un roller ?

By the way, your bar/chain idea is effective for unrolling. Have seen folks transport on trailers or tractors with FEL/grapple, then use a bar and chains to unroll.

    Basic Bale Un roller ?

I welded some pins on the back of a flatbed pickup and used one of those 3 point unrollers with a 12 volt electric winch, made myself a hydra-bed! Used it for a few years before I could afford a regular hydraulic one.

Last year for the 5.9L Cummins

My 07 had the 5.9. Traded it off for an '11 model. I did not notice a big gain in power, pulled about the same as the 07 did. The big difference was in mileage......the 6.7 was getting 13 mpg tops for me (20 from the 5.9 bob-tailed). They had to start putting in the 6.7 to get through all the...

    Ford F150 Crew Cab Pickups

F-150 is good for what it is. Treat it like a car and it will do you right. Comfortable, plenty of power, and good ride. After 100k miles you will need a new one. Been through many of them, highway miles mostly. The Chevy (that I beat the heck out of) I drive on the ranch is about to turn over...

    Tractor tire chains

Got the chains. Very happy with that decision. Although, I wasn't happy at first,......what a PITA to put on! But they did the trick even without weight on the back. If anyone has any tips for getting them tight, I'm listening. I put them on, rolled up and down the drive, tightened them up a...

    Tractor tire chains

Never even crossed my mind, don't know why. Good idea, thanks!

    Tractor tire chains

Yeah, have already been thinking of re-plumbing the hydraulics for other reasons as well. I make the cows pay for the equipment so I can't afford anything with MFWD. I might just rig up a weight that I can put on the 3 point.

    Tractor tire chains

I have a Ford 5000 diesel with loader and grapple. Also has a bale unroller on the back. In winter, I have to pick up a bale on the back before I can pick one up with the grapple. If there is even an inch of snow on the ground, I will just spin once I pick up a bale with the front unless I do...

    Hard Surfacing Plow Points

Jed was close, it's Stoody brand. I also use Polaris hard surface rod, it welds real nice and has done wonders for our wear surfaces.

    JD 2010

Growin up a 2010 was the only tractor we had on a 3500 acre place, it did all our haying and farming for a good 15 years without any problems, until we got a triple wide new holland bale wagon. That wore it out real quick. Although it would be a bit underpowered for todays equipment, I still...

How long to plug in tractor in cold weather?

I have an old Ford 6000, put an in-line heater on it and it works great. I plug it in for about an hour before I start the tractor, 2 hours is better if I have time. Last year I left it plugged in all the time, the heaters don't last long that way. I think the heater cost about 60 dollars and...

    Hot Wheel & Hub

Absolutely,.....it probably got hot enough to ruin the grease in that wheel, possibly the other wheels got hot enough before to ruin the grease before it was noticed. Clean out the old grease and re-pack those bearings.

    Shortbed trucks and goosenecks

I pull 24 foot stock trailer crammed full of cows, 25 foot flatbed and had it loaded as heavy as 14,000. BUT,....it is a Dodge. Not sure if a Chevy or Ford will be up to the challenge.

    One of THOSE days

Hauling hay to another corral today, but the weather is at least cooperating, got all the way up to 30 degrees F today!! So I load up the trailer with hay, as I pull out and turn I notice one of the tires on the trailer has blown out. Oh well, I'll try and make it, its only 2 miles. As I turn...

    3 point backhoe

That's all good to hear. This unit is new, has its own hydraulics and comes with a pto pump. From what I have seen its a very good buy. Seeing similar models, same power, same digging depth, run 4 to 5 thousand dollars with no pump. I was looking on the internet for info on a 3 point...

    3 point backhoe

Has anyone used a 3 point backhoe attachment? I know they are lighter duty than a regular backhoe, but will they get the job done? Im talkin some trenching, diggin a hole now and then type thing. Not planning on digging a basement or doing major construction. Also my ground isnt full of giant...

    Tractor purchase question...

Sad but true, not disputing the quality, but those "green" prices are quite inflated, new or used.
