    Gehl 5240 Pros/Cons

Needing a skidsteer for the farm. Just bought one of these at auction. Seemed like reasonable value. Anyone ever use one? If so, pluses and minuses would be appreciated.

    Deal or Dud

I've never thought of myself as cheap, and I hate hooking up PTOs, but that price about made me choke.

    Is this a Deal?

Seems like a great price for the hours but I'm not familiar with the model. Thoughts? https://syracuse.craigslist.org/hvo/6047296243.html

    What Should I Get?

Nesi, I've thought about both a backhoe and a dozer but I'm having a hard time thinking about wanting to run either for that much burying work. Thats a lot of set down outriggers, dig, pull up, move, set down, etc. I think I want a dedicated digger. Aaron, I think you are absolutely right...

    What Should I Get?

Ok experts, what should I get? I have a list of projects that I am going to give you in order of priority. I want a piece of equipment to help with all of these. That piece of equipment would seem to be an excavator but my question is something full-size, or a larger "mini"? Also, any...

    Must have equipment

Ding, Ding, Ding for me. Lots of other things I like and more that I want but I could do what I need to for my herd with just those three.

    Winches

I'm going to bite the bullet and get a new Ranger for the farm but hearing $750 for an installed winch about put me over the edge. This made me start looking online. I can get a Warn winch (4000 lbs) for about $450 or a KFI or no-name for about $300. Any reason to pay $750? Is a Warn still...

    Can we talk post drivers?

I've got a Shaver HD-10 and I say God bless the man who created it. We are on seriously rocky soil here and digging a corner hole with a 3 pt. auger can be a 1-2 hour project. Yes, you will occasionally hit the rock that a post isnt going to go through (see below) and sometimes it will kick a...

    The Farm Truck Thread!

Alright, I waited long enough for someone else to start it. Here is ours. 1990 3/4 ton. Means the world to me since it was my Grandpa's but we don't baby it. It still does all our snowplowing (this means just about daily use for 6 months a year) and I still drive it out back every day to...

Gate Styles for Pens and Working Areas

To add to the conversation, how high off the ground do you all hang your gates. Do you make them solid with Plywood or anything like that? If so, how?

Gate Styles for Pens and Working Areas

That's a great point Rafter. We get some pretty good frost heave here. Anyone else?

Gate Styles for Pens and Working Areas

Alright, I just finished clearing and grading the area for where we are finally going to put in a decent working system for this little operation. I have read anything I can get my hands on from the forums here and many other places (Grandin, other forums, extensions, etc.) I'm going with all...

Do you have the part number?

    Ford 7740 Lift Arm Sleeve

I'd second Wengers. We have bought parts for our 8340 there much cheaper than local NH dealer.

Back off Sky! :cowboy: Where ya at Smokin?

    Post Pounders

True King. I guess my question on that is will it push them aside enough to move through all but the largest boulders. We have nice loamy soil, its just got a lot of rock. Secondly, Would it drive a 4" steel rod as a pilot to break up rocks and then the cedar?
