    Stiffening up some square tubing???

A piece of heavy angle iron the same width would stiffen it up a lot. I’d weld one top and bottom if it didn’t interfere with anything

JD M Series and E Series

I would personally say anything under 3k. We ran ours up to around 5k before trading. Those models seem to hold their value very well.

JD M Series and E Series

I would look for a lower hour 7130, or 7230. Put many many hours on several 7230’s with great luck. Running 6140r’s now. They are very fancy and enjoyable to run, ATR is awesome, but a lot more problems with them.

    Looking for a 100+hp tractor

Tillage is a joke. Spend that money on something with some return. We run a semi large row crop operation, I’m the young and eager one. My relatives are very old school and after 3 years of them seeing my yields, soil improvement, and Expense reduction guess who is going to cover crop and start...

Plow vs. Disking vs. Chisel Plow

I would leave the chisel in the shed where it belongs. Wait for the bluestem to get good and dry, then burn it off. Hit it real light with the disk, and then plant. Try to do it when there is pretty good moisture so it will work up better. I’m assuming in south Texas you don’t get much...

Need Help/Advise... novice but shopping for haying equipment

Before I can give my opinion. How much is he charging a bale? And what size bales?

    Let’s talk seat covers!

Recently bought a new feed truck. It has the 40-20-40 seats in it. Very nice vinyl bucket type seats. I’m looking for something that will fit tightly and be water proof. I’m always spilling something, or throwing a dirty/slimy calf on the floorboard to warm it up. I would love to be able to...

Which brand of tools would you buy?

Milwaukee here also. Like everything else we have, we abuse the heck out of them. One of our 3/8ths impacts finally crapped out after 6 years. Sent it in and for 50$ they completely rebuilt it. We have 2 3/8”!impacts, 2 1/2” impacts, a grinder, 2 grease guns, skill saw, work lights, fans...

    Thoughts on UTVs

We have 3 825i gators. One 2010 model (I think) it has been great. No real problems with over 10k miles. A 2012 that has been pretty good, but several problems. 8k miles. 2014 with cab and heat. Has been a complete turd. Something wrong with it every day. Major problems. New engine, all...

How many round bales per hour can you make ?

I think I’ll try this. How close can you stack them together?

    Stump Jumper Keeps coming loose

I had to replace the center stump jumper on the JD hx20. 1100$ if I remember correctly. I’ve welded them up several times, but this one finally cracked completely in half. I guess they are not made to grind up trees

How many round bales per hour can you make ?

I have never even thought about keeping track of bales per hour. I know I have baled close to 400 5x6 bales in a long day. I get after it, go from stopped to 9mph in about a second. I agree with the above comment. If you could speed up bale ejection, things would really be faster. I really want...

    Baler purchase

I would look for a jd 468 or 469. If you shop around, you can get a prettt good buy. We have had a 567, 568, and a 569 now. Awesome balers. I have saw several 568’s with 40-50k bales. We usually trade about every 4 years, that’s right around 20k bales. Never had a major issue with one. I...

    Hay Tractor Poll

We are all green right now, but I think that might change. New holland salesman has been by several times. I’ll see just how bad they want our business this fall when it’s time to trade in the 7230’s.

    gps sprayer

https://www.ruralmfg.com/mall/6_GS01_Outback_S-Lite.aspx This is what we used to have. For that price, the overlap savings and increased productivity would pay for it quickly

    gps sprayer

We have multiple JD auto steer units, they are absolutely wonderful. Works very well with newer auto track ready tractors. For the price of it, it would be very hard to justify them without a rowcrop operation like us. We used to use a outback light bar for spraying and fertilizer. It...

On the subject of hay balers, and getting one's hay rolled....

I hate thin hay. Even when raking at 12-14 mph I still had to weave. That baler probably didn’t even know it was being used. Mine is on year 3 with around 11,000 bales and I bet 90% of them have been wrapped up at 10-12 mph. We don’t mess around.

    Polaris 500 vs 900

All the new ones are junk, anyone who tells you different doesn’t use them very hard. We have had a few rangers, they are great for hauling the kids around, or planting the wife’s flowers. We now have 3 825i gators. One gets traded every year, so they never go out of warranty. They still have...
