    504c help

Did you measure the old belts? Were all belts replaced or just the outer ones? Hard to say what kind of modifications have been done since that model was new.

    Stihl problems !

I've had an MS250c for a long time and cut a ton of wood with it. Other than a few minor repairs over the years it's been a great saw. Here's hoping its something minor with yours

    Selector control valve leak

Never been inside a jd one like that but i assume it's just a spool and o rings? Is the casting cracked? Otherwise I would think you could get anything to fix it from jd.

Does anybody still use one of these hay balers/stackers?

Havnt seen anyone use one of those for a good 15 years around here. Neighbor used to use it on soybean straw if i remember right. Always heard them called stackers. I imagine it was a pretty slick deal before round bakers came along

    Tractor Tranny Fluid Replacement ?

I would say for sure it should be warmed up good before draining. I doubt all the moisture would still come out with one flush tho. Never heard of an additive for that purpose but i learn new things all the time. Maybe something alcohol based would absorb moisture? I would also suspect if...

    John deer question

Probably not much help but dad just had his 2440 in to the local deere dealer last spring and they supposedly found the head gasket starting to leak some coolant. I assume thats the same family of engine, also a 4 cyl diesel.

    2014 5085 E Warning Lights

We have an international tanker at the fd that the dash lights up only going around a left hand corner. (Took a while to figure out it wasnt random) I beleive it ended up being a sensor that wasnt just right. Certainly unsettling not knowing if its a false alarm or serious problem.

    Dumb question

Dad always has a pile of feed sacks handy to prevent the wet backside syndrome. If a guy wanted to class it up I would check with an upholstery shop or brush off the sewing skills

Baler part- what does it do?

I would agree with the scraper theory. Trouble is hay gets caught between it and the roller(#2on the diagram) and then between the roller and the belt and eventually prevents hay from going to the edge of the bale and the twine arm from moving freely. The peice directly above the ribbed roll...

Baler part- what does it do?

I'm slowly over the course of the last two seasons figuring out how to run run my Badger 615 round baler(same as a vermeer 605c). This 2nd cut short grass haa been giving me fits with the hay bunching up between the belts. I took this peice off yesterday and made a few bales and it seems to...

    JD Feed Mill PTO Rpm

Bought and fixed up a John Deere 400 feed mill on an auction. It has the 1000 rpm yoke on the pto shaft, but everyone I talk to says they didn't know JD made those for 1000 pto. Any guesses as to whether it is 1000 or if someone just put a different yoke on and ran the tractor slower? Seems to...
