Single axle day cab/40’ ground load

I see way more hired 28'-32' trailers around here. Those guys stay busy with a couple different barns around the area. Like Aaron said above most couldn't get a 40' in a place.

    Priefert SO4

Arrow is Q-Catch right? Aren't they about twice the price of a Priefert? I've never used them working cattle but have seen a couple and they look very nice.

    Extension cord length

Buy a timer to use with the block heater so you're not running it 24/7. Works great for me and is more economical.

    What was your first tractor?

2001 John Deere 5310 2WD w/ loader. Bought it in 2013 with 285 hours on it. I'd love a cab but I can't justify it when this one is like new and I need a hundred other things.

    Loading your tires

Is there a rule of thumb for how much to put into a tire based on tire size or anything else? I have one tire that has lost some fluid and needs attention.

    Owning a trailer

We've got a 16" bumper that was really cheap or we wouldn't have bought it. I like it for our 4H animals, hauling a couple horses, or moving small loads around. Have a 20X7 when we move the cows from place to place or haul a bigger load of calves. I hate relying on somebody else and their...

What kind of rotary mower do you like?

We have a Rhino 12' batwing and a Rhino 10'. If I could get a decent price for it I'd sell the 10' in a minute and upgrade to another batwing.

    Dodge

My uncle just bought a new Ram 2500 with the big Hemi. He like you drove Ford's forever, probably closer to 40 years for him actually. He's very pleased with the truck. He doesn't pull often but will haul several loads of hay and cattle a year. He doesn't have enough miles on it though to...

    Need a utv opinion

I do wish I had power steering. I drove one this weekend with it and it was night and day.

    Need a utv opinion

I love my John Deere Gator 825i. 6300 miles and about 1000 hours I believe. It's plenty spacious and powerful to work but will also run mid to low 40's if you want to play.

Your favorite non Priefert, ForMost or Powder River squeeze?

Me as a small commercial guy can't justify it. We have several Priefert Model 91 headgates that do the job just fine.

Your favorite non Priefert, ForMost or Powder River squeeze?

I've not personally used one but our local Livestock Specialist with Extension and another sizable Registered Angus breeder use them. They absolutely love them and wouldn't use anything else. Got a client who just ordered a Silencer. They are spending some serious $$$. Priefert is hard to...

    Head gate advise?

We've always bolted ours so we could take it to another setup if needed. We use Priefert Model 91 and like them. I've never tried the auto feature and probably never will unless it was an emergency.

Safety Chains on a Gooseneck trailer

I'm racking my brain trying to think of all the gooseneck trailers I've owned or used through the years and remember one having chains on it. Most trucks wouldn't even have a place to hook them. I'm not saying its right but I never see anybody hooked up with them here.

    Hay bed vs hay spear

I had one welded up that uses my gooseneck ball to hold it in place. It worked great but it pi$$es me off that I can't easily then pull a gooseneck trailer. I haven't used it for a couple of years and actually my Dad put it in his old truck the other day. I would much rather have something...

Looking at flat bed trailers which ones are the best for the $$

T & B Welding in Lockwood MO makes EZ Haul and I believe trailers for others that are sold under different names. A couple of guys around here have bought them and gotten heavy duty trailers with hydraulic doves. They would flat wear out the other brands they used but they use and abuse them...

    I'm a Dodge man now!

If you are towing often and big loads definitely. If pulling the occasional 20' or 24' stock trailer or hauling a bit of hay no. Duals just handle a load so much better. With what I haul currently I can't justify it. My F-250 does just fine.

Dual wheels make a world of difference pulling.

    Cold weather starting aids?

Have you had any better luck with a certain brand of timer?
