    Cold temps and wire?

I'm ready to have 4' field fence wire pulled over 500'. The posts are 4" rounds set in concrete every 10'. I've been told that if you stretch it in the cold temps, it will sag and become loose in the warmer temps. Is this true? Should I wait? Thank you.

Dexter bull and Dexter steer buddy

Greetings, thought I'd add an undated picture of Dusty my bull, now nine months old and the new friend I got for him, four months old. It's amazing how much calmer my bull is now. Enjoy. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/ ... 0_0079.jpg

    Dexter steer

I visited my dexter steer today. 2 1/2 months old. I get him mid December at weaning. He'll be the pasture buddy for my bull. He's maybe 24" on his tippy-hoofs. I love the attitude look. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/ ... 0_0058.jpg

    Dexter bull

    The Pond

An old farmer had owned a large farm for several years. He had a large pond in the back, fixed up nice; picnic tables, horseshoe courts, and some apple and peach trees. The pond was properly shaped and fixed up for swimming when it was built. One evening the old farmer decided to go...

    Angus vs. Angus

There is a new radio advertisment I've been hearing lately. It says a store here is now carrying "premium Angus beef, which is better than just ordinary Angus beef." This adds to my bewilderment about the packaged labels 'Black Angus beef' in the stores and resturants. They don't say 'red'...

    Spayed Heifers?

I am new to the wonderful life of cattle. I came across a cattle auction on an AG channel this morning, and they ran 96 spayed heifers thru. Why would you spay a heifer? Do they finish better? Or did I misunderstand?
