    Fence

Hamiam there's a whole lot of us that learned to weld in HS. We've burned a lot of rod in the 50 years since then. The more you weld, the better you become.

    Fence

We had a neighbor like that. His cows were starving and they had to go somewhere. You learn to never plant winter wheat in the pasture that adjoins that neighbor. You almost need a buffer zone of land.

    Solar Fence Charger

The fence grounding did not work for me with hundreds of T posts. I moved the unit near a pond. Drove a ground rod in the mud. Took a tiller and ran a deep trench to the charger to bury the ground cable in. About 100 feet long. There has never been a problem since.

    Bass Reeves

Brute I enjoyed the series. The show near "Glen Rose" hit close to home since I have all the dino tracks on my place.

    Close the door Nesi!

12 degrees here in my part of TX this a.m. I actually zipped up the parka I bought in Wyoming. My wife is wearing my old Alyeska parka that came off the north slope. I may have lost it for good :-)

    What is with people

I used to drag trailers a lot. Light turns red way up the road. Its time to let off the gas. Car flies by and runs up to the light to stop. I'm still coasting down. I get to the light doing about 40 still, its green, and I slide right past the car. Its time to accelerate just for good...

    Taxes

There was that year when the accountant told me I owed $165,000. Capital gains mostly. I wish it was that way every year.

    Over all drought.

We're still under a burn ban. An inch and a half 3 weeks back. Most of it evaporated in the 90 degree days following. A half inch yesterday. Not much hope. Maybe sew some clover later if it starts raining.

    Father time

Caustic I have not bought a hunting/fishing license in 5 years or so. That's awful ! My bow is covered in dust. I suspect the arrow fletchings are probably dry rotted. Its embarrassing.

    Finishing A Wagyu

I have finished mine the same way I finish all others. Nothing different. Great results and my step son raved on the steaks. "best I have ever had"

    Golf Balls in pasture

we had a neighbor break up his place into 5 acre parcels a lot of golf balls started appearing by the third house I quit throwing them back across the fence. Started using them for nest eggs. Chicken snakes started eating them on occasion. I know of no problem with my cattle.

Is it a Myth or Not

I breed 'em. Better to have them calve out of my bull versus one of the neighbor's bulls jumping fence. I have nightmares to tell on that. I have hauled smaller ones to my home (small pasture there) as a fail safe.

    Rusk Mental Institution

Trash hay is going for $110 a round bale. You can find good hay for $150 TSC is asking $165 for round bales that don't look great. Everything is burned up. Trees dead. Cactus dying. Fires every day. I'm feeding one momma and two steers. Sure glad I don't have 85 mommas in the...

    Rusk Mental Institution

I had to pout a new A/C in the big rent house in town. One of the nice rentals in the country is vacant. I decided to sell it. Have the contractors in there now refurbishing everything. It has well pump problems. Rented a 20 yard roll away for the contractor trash plus clean up of the...
