Hope he stays on his side of the fence.

Corrientes are basically a goat with bovine DNA.

Hope he stays on his side of the fence.

Fences are only suggestions for bulls. My neighbor's have been good to work with and we let each other know when bulls are going out next to each other so can try and keep a pasture separation. Slowly getting some of the perimeters with electric top and middle. Need to have something that...

    When buying registered cattle

I always ask if buyers want papers transferred. 90% don't want more paper. The ones that do it is pretty simple to do on our account with the AAA website and they will mail directly to buyer for a small extra fee.

    Ivermectin wormer pour on

We use Dectomax in the fall at preg check and vaccination time (late October to mid-November). Then Clean Up II for lice control about the end of December. We didn't get the Clean Up II work done this year and cows looked pretty bad by March due to lice. They look normal now though.

    Ivermectin wormer pour on

Need to add a little Warbex if you could find it to fix the buzzard problem.

    Rat tails

Does the heifer have a tail switch? Breed her red and should have some nice calves.

    Bulls

Most of ours were tested at 11 months this year. Some at 13 months. None we sold would have been turned out before 13 months.

    Bulls

I won't sell a bull that has not passed BSE and Trich (if he is not a virgin bull). Also first year breeding guarantee for the first 90 days of breeding season.

Post a pic of your bull

He actually appears to have an overbite and his image has been obviously photoshopped onto a grass scenery background. His tail switch looks really nice -- kind of an 80s rock hair band vibe.

    Right Time 7861 bull calf

    Right Time 7861 bull calf

I have 12 replacement heifers and 7 of them are 7861 daughters. The 2024 calves had 8 bulls and 5 heifers. All the heifers look promising at this point. I need to get an email off to Spicklers and get some more semen ordered.

    Right Time 7861 bull calf

I'm kinda liking this calf. His full brother sold to South Dakota for $7250 this spring.

    Right Time 7861 bull calf

    Production sale

My Coalitions bred up decent. Had trouble with a True North though.

    Production sale

U2 Coalition sires some of the better looking and more structurally correct bulls. Ours were a little smaller at weaning, but post weaning they really take off.

They look good. Well done. Good luck on your sale.

    Lot 1 GAR Sale

I don't recall there being many short legged grass type bulls on any allotments I have seen. Most ranchers seem to select the thickest and best traveling bulls they can buy. Most cattle seem to run year round in a BCS 5.

    Lot 1 GAR Sale

I think on big rough country, which most federal allotments are, a bull that is structurally correct and moves out well will have the most success. Some are bigger framed and some are smaller, but the key is they have to be able to walk and have some libido. Each bull is on his own merits...

    Production sale

This is exactly why you should start your own thread on this topic. Highjacking Jake's thread isn't the place for it. I do look forward to having this discussion on a thread you start about how to increase pounds and profits with a feed truck and haying equipment.
