He looks wormy to me. I know you said you dewormed him - but, how long ago? only 1 time in his life? -- he is thin and rough hair coat. Needs more feed of some kind. Better pasture or more grain. How soon were you hoping to butcher him?

Crazy thing is I know both of those songs! Well, I don't "know" them, but familiar with them. My nephew plays music 24/7. Very eclectic variety! He has thousands on him phone and knows the words to all of them.

If it was just a combination of "sweepings" and filler that feed mills bag up for cheap feed, it can be no better for them then so-so hay.

You said he fed them hay thru the winter - fed every day. Do you mean he fed hay every day or also fed grain? If no grain, I sure can understand their light weight. It would have to be some pretty special hay for a weaned calf to grow on.

I use EX eartags for my newborns. They grow into them!!! TC & I tag heifers in left and males in right ear. I use red tags for heifers and yellow for males. Real easy to distinguish between the sexes -especially when a customer is looking for heifers or bulls.

Thanks Warren for the compliment. Customer satisfaction is number ONE if you want to stay in business. Problem with buying bulls from me, I don't raise any to breeding age. ALL bulls and steers are gone in October. So, all bull calves.

Not sure what you are referring to "could be read two different ways". The "meter" is the "Fact or Fiction" meter about the whole article. So, definitely was not fiction.
