    44 years today , 50 if you count dating in high school and college . Hasn’t always been smooth sailing but a lot more good days than bad . 3 awesome kids and their spouses and now 7 grandchildren. The Lord blessed me more than I deserve with her and all our family .

    Found this guy last week . Mom wasn’t mothering him up very much and left him on one side of the pasture and she was across the 40 and in the neighbors pasture that joins us . We use that pasture and it’s about 15 acres . Couldn’t get her to go to him so I had the bright idea of putting him in...

    That time of year

    Walked when 2 feet of this guy twice opening and closing a gate . Only saw him when I got back in the Polaris. Copper head . Looks big in the pic . One of the smaller ones I’ve killed over the years . First one at the cattle farm .

    Sold 7 today , blown away by what they brought! Two calves at 460 lbs were heifers . Left 4 home that I had planned on selling. 1 sick , 3 lighter than I wanted to sell .

    Calves sold today

    Carried 6 to the sale this am . Easiest loading I’ve ever done especially in the pouring rain 🌧️. By myself ! Two bulls average weighing 480 and brought 3.25 and 3.15. 4 heifers averaged around 440 and prices ranged from 2.80 -3.00 . Pleased with the check . Already spent it on fertilizer ...

    Good Friday fishing trip

    Finally took time out fertilizing pasture and hay to take the 2 oldest grandsons fishing . Little man Wells caught 8 , big brother Max caught 9 . Paw Paw forgot the paddle and had to paddle with a shovel .

    Next project

    Had a grownup fence line between us and a neighbors. Wish I had a before and after picture. Neighbors only request was to leave the biggest trees. Going back with T posts and 5-6 strands of barbed wire . Last perimeter fence hopefully we have to replace.

    Big one got away 😩

    Caught 12 more crappie out of one of the farm ponds but let one of the biggest crappies I’ve ever had on get away . I was dragging him up on the bank when the hook pulled out . I tried to grab it but one flop and it was gone ! 😩

    Driving rain !

    Never saw calves do this but usually don’t get out when it’s done this . Had to go give my baby her bottle.
