    First branding done

You already have them cut or banded at birth? We have a table and tip them. Heifers and bull calves left in tact are quick, steers take a little longer.

    Ivermectin wormer pour on

Need to add a little Warbex if you could find it to fix the buzzard problem.

Are these still considered "cage free" chickens?!!

Every time we get a gust of wind they would get a carnival ride.

    Good morning!

...a wet spring and it came straight down, not a blizzard. We are at 4800-5000' here, which is low for a lot of Wyoming. Today is a hot wind at 80* and the smooth brome in the old CRP is starting to throw seed heads at 5" tall. Native grasses are going to punt and bolt seed heads real soon if...

Ours leave their rodent trophies on the step and want fed.

    Mornign chore

Except for deer flies in the day and skeeters the rest of the time.

    Good morning!

I'd love to have about 6" of that. Looks like August around here. All tan with a slight tint of green when it should be bright green.

    Feeding calves for weaning/ holding

I've only seen videos, but it looks like they sell each critter in about 5 seconds. Whoever tracks which buyer bought each animal must be on the ball to keep up. Pretty impressive the pace of southern auctions.

    ATV

I think in Wyoming it is considered a motor vehicle and sales tax is due when title is transferred at county clerk's office. Now if the buggy will never leave the place and be run til it dies, who needs a title or to pay sales tax? However, with a loan on it, the bank is going to want to hold...

What are the going lease rates for pasture?

We are next to the Nebraska and Colorado pasture lease market. Nebraska can be $45-65/pair per month and Colorado $35+/pair per month. A lot of them have crop aftermath to go to in the winter to keep average cost down. I am at $33/pair per month out the gate on the neighbor's pasture and my...

    Rat tails

Does the heifer have a tail switch? Breed her red and should have some nice calves.

    Post a random thought

I am usually pretty happy with 4-5 years on Mr. Coffee drip machines. May last longer with more regular vinegar douche applications. Eight years is pretty impressive.

    Bulls

Most of ours were tested at 11 months this year. Some at 13 months. None we sold would have been turned out before 13 months.

    Summer weather predictions

We moved into "abnormally dry" status on Drought Monitor this week.

    Bulls

I won't sell a bull that has not passed BSE and Trich (if he is not a virgin bull). Also first year breeding guarantee for the first 90 days of breeding season.

    Pasture Pet Peeves

Law is law and isn't always fair. "Fair" is where you go to see the hogs.

    Pasture Pet Peeves

Broken down fence corners and H braces. If the ends and middles are strong, all the rotten posts and ancient wire in between can at least be held up by the ends and middles. My area is full of these kind of fences and I have a few I haven't been able to replace yet, but they are on the list.

2 month old calf drooling bubbles

    What is calf's temp today?

    Last heifer calved today.

    Was it born backwards?

    Asking for a friend…….

I don't think so. Don't think it will do anything. At least not in a normal dose.
