    Show cattle to fund me

Well after sponsoring 2 steers last year, I am not sure what a $1000 is going to do for him, feed cost $3000 each. You cant by a decent show steer for less the $2500, I don't thank you can even get a feed lot calf for less than $1200 right now. I know a lot of the kids at the local FFA last year...

here is one in the same price range that sold yesterday I think he went for 3000, for a lot of county fairs the first calf would do good,

    Show steer prices

28K, I have been following a few of the sales this year, saw a steer sell for 75,500 thought that was outrages 3 or 4 days later 76,000 and last week I saw a heifer sell for over 175,000, in that same sale 2 Char steers sold for 110,000 and another 99,000. I can see if you have the money and are...

    Thought on this calf

Hard to tell from the pictures but he looks real strait in the rear, a good rule when picking a calf is start at the feet, watch them walk, if they have issues walking it will only get worse as they put on weight. Standing, his topline looks fine but next to the Char calf he does appear to be...

    Show steer prices

Been a while since I been here,

I know how many people on these boards do not care for show cattle, I get that, but there are some real advantages to showing cattle or any type of livestock. My grandson passed a way almost 7 years ago, in his memory myself and a few friends started a foundation that sponsors young people in...

    show cattle cooler

Something to think about, leavening a calf wet in the heat actually makes them hotter unless they are in a cool area with fans to dry them off. From how it was explained to me once the body heat is transferred to the water in the hair the cooling effect is lost. Another reason is leaving wet...
