    Heifers

We pulled a dead calf a few weeks ago from a small heifer from the same scenario...calf was not too big...heifer was just too small. It was all my fault...just was not paying attention and by the time we noticed, heifer was too far along to abort. :( I am thankful we did not lose the heifer...

Carried our hereford heifer (19 months old) back to the vet yesterday for a follow-up...she is 3-3 1/2 months bred and doing well, although the vet did mention she was a bit vertically challenged (short) ;-). I then went and weighed her...now 980 lbs, a gain of 140 lbs from Dec. 16th for an...

I am a novice as well; however, this is what I would do with her... Give her a shot of A, D & E and B complex vitamins, hit her with...

Please help with sick calf as I am stumped.Lack of selenium?

What breed of calf is this? (just curious) If the calf is bad dehydrated, his eyes will be sunken in his head. Pinch his/her? skin up...if it stays up, another way to tell how dehydrated it is. As Alice said previoiusly, dehydration kills em, not the scours. Although, I have seen my...

    Doubling up chargers

We have three bulls in an area I placed a two-wire electric fence around. Grass was getting low so I extended the area to about three times the size, having to take down one run of wire...the bulls would walk up to where the old wire was and just stand and look at the tall grass on the other...
