What color would you call this cow?

    I’d call her dark gray

    Bull baby setting

I have a bull that would always babysit the calves while he was a yearling and two year old. He doesn’t seem to do it as much anymore, but he would often be laying with a group of 5 or 6 calves while the cows were off grazing.

    Culling Bred Cows?

If they were mine I’d take them to the next sale and sell them as bred cows. If there is a special bred cow or herd dispersal sale, it may be worth it to take them to one of those since there will likely be more people there looking for bred cattle

Stirring the pot on the LH/corriente topic

No matter what breed of bull you use, your odds of getting a spotted calf out of a cow like that are going to be the same (unless you're using a spotted bull obviously). Spotting genes are independent to hide color and dilution genes. Like Kenny said, yellow spots on a white hide blend in much...

Yes, they moved the cattle back down to Texas. The sale will in February 2024 this time instead of September like they usually do.

Buying pairs that calve at the sale barn

It is certainly more risky, but with that being said, one of my very best cows was bought that way. She has been a money maker for a long time now.

    How about this?

Hired Hand Live (the website with the sale results) is an online auction service. They provide a livestream of the auction, so when it is live you can listen and watch. They do sales all over the country, although they seem to be pretty closely tied to the longhorn industry. In the livestream...

    How about this?

The ones that say sold to floor were bought someone who was at the auction while the ones with a name were sold to an online bidder.
