We did. Got some pretty good calves from him. But his back feet grew crazy, which the breeder made good on. Then the bull I picked to replace him didn't pass his Semen test....so we got a different bull. Which I think is a pretty good bull. Not the greatest photos...but they're all I have at...

We got 60 babies in our 24'. Ranged from under 100 lbs and up.

We use Y-tex tags in the cows. They are a 2 piece tag, but we have really good retention with them. In the calves we use Z-tag feedlot tags.

Your barn setup looks a lot like ours.

Oh, Yeah, the snow is gone. Pretty much on schedule this year, snow melted mostly in mid March, and the grass is started to grow now.

We've calved a few in really cold weather. Last April (Easter time) we were seeing -30 C overnight. We were done the first cycle by then, but March wasn't real sweet either. This year, when our heifers started (end of Feb) we were seeing those -30's again. And we were having 55-65 lb calves, not...

Last year we had 11 sets, lost 4 calves and one set was born in the cold which I am pretty sure is why they died. And we helped 2 sets be born. 1 calf was backwards and one was backwards and upside down.

And we rarely have big problems with twins. More often than not, we just go out and find a cow with 2 calves. Out of 3 sets so far this year, 2 were unassisted and one set we helped. Only problem with that set was that the second calf had 1 foot coming up under the first calf. They both came...

She is pretty sweet, and was a pretty big surprise when she came out looking like that. Her mother has never thrown anything colourful like that before and she is one of our oldest cows. DH wasn't all that impressed :banana:

Thanks, Yes, she raises some whoppers, and she's on borrowed time. Same with her mother who is 11 this year. Mom is done this year, her udder was always pretty poor, but she lasted a LOT longer than I thought she would. So far we haven't had to touch either one of them, which is why they are...
