    Finishing A Wagyu

Our three steers are 7 months old and probably weigh 625lbs (best guess). To get them to a filled-out brisket and flanks dropped (finished) how many pounds are you getting your steers up to? Are your steers wagyu? I so appreciate your wisdom and help. Thank you!

    Breeding Question

I do not think he is in any rush, so whatever is recommended (vaccines) and the best allotted time are the precautions that I am looking for.

    Finishing A Wagyu

I spoke with a lady who has raised/slaughtered these for years. Her number 1 piece of advice was to not slaughter the steers until they were 28 months old. She mentioned that it takes this long for the true marbling to fill into the meat. I had not heard this before...

    Breeding Question

A friend from church wants to bring his cow over for our bull to breed. I'm not charging him and want to help. What vaccines do I need to make sure his cow has before she visits? I don't want to put my cattle at risk of getting sick or worse... Any suggestions or thoughts?

    Finishing A Wagyu

I've only finished one steer (last year) in my life and it was a highland/angus cross that turned out pretty good. I purchased three Wagyu/Angus steers (600 lbs) and wanted help from the veterans on the message board. Here are a few of my questions: 1. Should I finish a Wagyu the same way I...

    Daily Chuckle

Two farmers met on the back side of their properties. Their land was separated by a vary larger river. One farmer began yelling from across the river, "How do I get to the other side?" When the other farmer finally understood him he yelled back, You are already on the other side."

    Cover Crop Question - Newbie

So everything started growing but the cold weather really slowed the growth down considerably. I really didn't get the pre-winter growth that I was hoping for so I have had to buy about 20 round bales. I will have to wait and see how the cover crop comes up in early spring to see if it was...

    Aggressive Bull

I agree with your assessment (and experience). It just doesn't seem to be worth the risk.

    New Truck

Everyone is saying the bottom is about to fall out on the truck market. It seems that everyone bought trucks in 2020 & 2021 on stimulus money and etc. If it is true about the vast number of these trucks now being repossessed, there are going to be some crazy low prices later this year as the car...

    401K thoughts?

I’d have to agree with the post that warned against trusting random opinions on a forum. Nothing against ranchers (I am one) but I’d encourage you to speak with a professional that watches the markets all day, every day. My wife and I use Still Waters Wealth Management Group out of Juno, Fl. We...

    Small Trough De-icers

I ended up with three inches of ice with frozen jugs as well. It might work if the ice was a half inch or less. Axe worked well🤣

    Small Trough De-icers

I put a few of these in our troughs so we will now soon how they work. Thanks for taking the time to contribute and share this idea.
