Do you need salt and mineral blocks at each water source all year long. Also somebody mention Salt blocks with fly control. Does it work and is it pricey because I think my Dad sprayed for cows for flies.
I got close why in the world they use tonnage instead of per ac. I will never know and check water gauge today and up to 3 inches. Hopefully the drought is over.
Yes please labor and fertilizer total. Tonnage instead of per ac. is confusing me. $ 810 to spread ( granular) and $ 265 per ton ( fertilizer cost ) using 20-1/4 total tons for 135 ac. I came up with $ 6400 plus or minus. Fertilizer is way down in price is what I have been told.
My Dad always fertiled using granular. Since we are having a horrible drought we noticed some ranchers are using liquid fertilizer for spray. Now I have no clue if they are using Spray because of the drought but it would make since.

I had a lady tell me that there is Federal or local grants for cattle pastures. We have had the worst drought in 20 years and my Friend says there is a site that you put your zip code in and it shows who and what grants are available. Don't get me wrong I don't want a free handout but we all...
I have never understood " It's a tax Write off " If I start a cow/Calf business and lose money for a " Tax write off" I would eventually run out of money.
