never sprayed before and filling in for ill "real" farmer. 1) 300gal boomless schaben w single nozzle. regardless of tractor rpm, if keep sprayer psi @ 60, will spray 9.5 (say 10) gals of mixture per acre if traveling 5mph. Grazonnext recommend of 2 oz per acre. Therefore, cover rate would be 3 gals-12 acres; 4gals-16acres, etc. Could I just load up the 300gal tank with 10 gals of grazon and travel 10 mph? or is there a saturation rate of grazonnext and surfactant that you can reasonable mix with water in 300 gallon tank? given the rates, what would you mix and spray at? Oh yea...ragweed & horsenettle. Thank you for reading this...is drivin me crazy.

Welcome to Cattle Today!! You need to go back and read the label again. GrazonNext is to be applied at the rate of 1.2 pts to 1.5 pts per acre for western ragweed and 1.5 pts to 2 pts per acre of product for silverleaf night shade.

You want to use enough water per acre to get good coverage. Our Extension weed specialist told me to try to get 18 to 20 gallons per acre out to get good coverage. On my 300 gallon tank, I can cover 16 to 16.5 acres driving at 4 mph; the rpm at 2000 and the nozzle pressure at 40 psi. I put in 20 pts or 2.5 gallons of GrazonNext per tank full and 3 qts. of non-ionic surfactant per tank full. That puts out the GrazonNext at 1.2 pts to the acre.

By the way, this was first time I used this product and was very pleased. Sprayed in June.

I'm similar BC. I mix a 335 gallon sprayer with 3 gallons of GrazonNext and 3 qts of surfactant. My sprayer is set at 30 psi with twin boominator nozzles I run at 1250 rpm and 4 MPH. I cover about a 28' width. I get about 20-22 acres per tank.

This was my first year with the product and I am also very pleased. My main problem besides general weeds was milkweed and it knocked it back fairly well. I plan to use it again next year.

Try to spray when the winds are calm or your coverage will have some gaps. Don't spray it if cotton is anywhere close to you.

I appreicate the replies. What I did was 3.5 gals. in 300 gal tank (w surfactact) on 14 acres at about 60 psi. Cant gauge speed. Was able to cover most of it twice. Eager to see results. Thanks again for the feedback. I use google earth and an acre conservation thingie. punch in varying feet; like 300 X 800 ie 600 x 400 and this gives me the acreage after looking/measuring target on google earth. Pretty good as I have no experience with judging acreage. AGain, thank youll so much.

Before I had a speddometer that worked, I used a hand held GPS to calculate speed in gear and RPM

Is a time frame of two doses better (if so, how long) or is it enough to cover twice at time of spraying? Never thought about an app. (for mph) this farmin is lookin to take a variety of skills rather than 40 acres n a mule. I never really paid attention to what dad was doing all these years. What a waste for me.

What specific weeds/brush are you spraying for BC?

GB, I tank mixed 1.2 pts / acre of GrazonNext with 8 oz/ acre of Remedy. Was going after everything from goatweed to western ragweed to silverleaf nightshade and Carolina horsenettle to blackberry vines and persimmon sprouts. Best control I have had on nightshade and horsenettle.
