Who is feeding chicken ****?

Maybe it's not their efficiency so much as the fact they just eat so much? Them feathered critters never seem to stop eating even free range.
Chickens gain about 1lb for every pound of feed. That's pretty good. Second only to fish that are about 1:1.2 or so. Many times more efficient than a beef animal.
 
This isn't a great look for the beef industry.


In Michigan within a half mile of my home a guy pastures beef cattle on a garbage Dump. It turns out local police in Michigan look out for the welfare of cattle and think it's all okay
