Your favorite non Priefert, ForMost or Powder River squeeze?

Help Support CattleToday:

We seem to pay for the shipping here to Cali. I could have got it in Washington for less... It would have cost me more then n the end...

To continue the dialog a bit, yesterday I talked to my vet (who's in his 60s) about squeezes he's used at clients of his:

For manual squeezes, he likes WW, Pearson and Priefert the best (that's the order he mentioned them). I asked if he'd used Arrow (which has been mentioned several times above) and he said he had not.

One of ours is a Titan, company is located in Linn, KS, they deliver. My husband is also 6'4", hits his head every time on the Priefert at the barn but not the Titan. Ours includes the OK Corral & trailer. I personally prefer the Preifer because it's easier for me to use but the Titan is more heavy-duty.

One vote for RealTuff or Sioux Steel, since they are basically the same chute just different color. I like the Arrow as well but cannot justify a $7K+ price tag with additional $$$ for the head holder system. The Sioux/Real Tuff will stand up to the heaviest bulls/cows compared to Priefert and even some PR chutes. Seems like the main stream guys (PR, PFT, Tarter) are building lighter chutes now days (IMO). Regardless if you go with Arrow or Real Tuff you will be happy. Good luck with your purchase.

I've owned for most, powder river and preifert, and have seen just about every chute mentioned. More times than not, if your buying new, you get what you pay for. There are bargains to be had on used chutes if you're patient and don't mind the hassle of traveling. Having said that, if you have the money and are looking to make a long term investment, the arrow quip q catch 8500 is the most user friendly chute I've ever seen/used/owned. It's also as sturdy as they come. They are not cheap, but it was engineered in a way that makes working cattle by yourself very easy and safe.

A squeeze I've recently come across ... I've not seen it in person yet (should this week or next) but some of the features look to be similar to the Arrow.

Thoughts?

Of note, it's 32" wide.

Good looking options on it, are you going to see it at a farm show? If they have a corner less tub there give some input on it as well I like the looks of it. I'm replacing my crowding tub soon and this caught my eye while looking at their website.

Their cornerless tub looks slick as snot.

I'm hoping to see both at their manufacturing facility (unless they're at a farm show; didn't think to check that calendar).

WalnueCrest, I know a sales rep and the territory sales manager for Arrow. Not sure if they can make you a better deal but I'd be happy to provide contact info if you want to PM me.

That would be great ... PM coming.

Doesn't look bad - But the fact they have the video muted makes me wonder how loud it is. @ 1:58 when he closes that gate the whole thing looks like it shakes and rattles.

I'll report back when I get back ... I should be seeing it this week or next. I'll also report on the cornerless tub (which I think looks super cool with all the possible exits out).

Got it, sent an email.

Thanks!

This thread made me look at Arrow. I am about to pull the trigger. I was liking the Priefert S04. The Arrow is almost $3,000 more than the Priefert. Same dealer on both....

I've not personally used one but our local Livestock Specialist with Extension and another sizable Registered Angus breeder use them. They absolutely love them and wouldn't use anything else. Got a client who just ordered a Silencer. They are spending some serious $$$.

Priefert is hard to beat though, especially for the money.
