All of our synched AI heifers broke down two gates yesterday afternoon and got out with the bull. They were supposed to be time bred this afternoon.
There goes all the planning, meds, CIDR's and time. Can't say what the hubby called those girls.
Live and learn.

been there, done that, got the hat!

Sorry to hear about your dillema. Had the same thing happen to me last year, only the bull came in the coral instead of the heifers going out. In the process of building a new coral out of guard rail and sucker rod as we speak.

Haven't ever used guard rail before but we were going to try it on a bull pen this year. If we make it big enough I guess it could also serve as a pen to keep the synched cows/heifers in and the bull out.
All of these good ideas come after the fact.

we had the same thing happen in May, now we are trying to get the heifer back to cycling after a shot of lute to abort.
Damn bulls!

this seems to be a recurring theme. every time the owner decides he should have the bull more than 1 gate away from the herd of in heat cows.
