If I say that the Japense are the finest race of people on the planet will I be tarred a racist?

Japanese are a nationality not a race.

BTW: anthropologists are now moving slowly away from dividing Homo sapiens into races. Based on two tenets:

1. All Homo sapiens are fundamentally the same and the differences that have accumulated due to isolation from the ancestral gene pool are not worthy of distinction.

So then why do certain medical issues affect one race more than another?

Soccer.... a Pinko commie sport

There's a lot of teams from countries that are democratic, socialist and controlled by a dictator. Communists do not have a corner on the market for soccer.

Like sickle cell anemia in the Negroid race. The key word is "fundamentally". Physical Anthropology still recognizes the races of humans and there are differences in both physical appearance and metabolism. In fact, in sickle cell anemia, the red blood cells are shaped different to make those with that trait more resistant to malaria. But it also makes them more susceptible to anemia.

I say that not because the commies have a corner on the soccer market but rather how the youth programs are run. Starting at a very young age (6) it is soccer, soccer, year round soccer at the execution of all other sports. That is not good for the kids. And even though my youngest daughter was very successful at soccer and I watched a couple zillion soccer games, I find it extremely boring to watch.

Unfortunately that's all sports these days. I worked with a woman whose son showed promise in hockey. He was told by a college scout to go to private school if he wanted to make DI. He did, got offered a full ride, but then chose a different school b/c his girlfriend went there. They broke up, he played a dozen games, and didn't amount to anything sports wise. This has been my main gripe with youth sports, and I have been very reluctant to get my son involved. He does local baseball and is starting football this fall (God help us), but I'm never pushing travel leagues.
