I've been working on my latin a bit lately which involves breaking words down into their roots or origins.

For example : Democracy

Demo-short for demonstrate.
Cracy- (also spelled crazy) nuts, insane, etc.

Democracy=Demonstrated craziness.

So when we talk about an election being democracy in action, it pretty much sums it up.

Lets try another couple

Republican

Re- to do over (Re-elect, Re-taliate)
pub-a good place for drinking beer
lic-what your dog or cat does to you.
can- opposite of can't (can do attitude)

Republican=All good things

Democrat

Dem-uneducated way of saying them.
moc- (also spelled mock) false or fake.
rat- Large rodent with a hairless tale.

Democrats- Uneducated, fake, rats

Those latin people must have been able to see the future.
