not a good picture and I forgot to switch from B&W to color, but saw a little set of legs under a long bred cow I had earmarked as a cull to sell next trip to the salebarn. Was going to take her a few weeks ago but got tied up in Ark and then Livingston was closed last weekend. Now I'll have to keep her awhile longer.
Pretty shaky and laid/flopped right back down and momma went to work cleaning it off.

Born minutes before.

I call the momma Retard. She just has that look about her and acts goofy. Twice, right after calving, she has jumped up and took off running like her butt was on fire, running into stuff and into and thru a fence. She settles down and does the momma thing, but she just ain't right.

Of course you wish she hadn't done that,, that's exactly why she did it...what ever can go wrong,,a cow will make sure it doe's...maybe it'll turn out in your favor...

And you didn't want her to do that why? Now you can keep her till the calf is big enough to wean and then sell em both.
