17 this morning, and just now got up to 30. I decided not to go to the Calhoun sale, so I am sitting here watching the Franzen Simmental sale. Black pb Simms at $9k, all the way down to a red SimmAng at $3k.
Wow! That is insane!Latest picture from Gizmom , north Florida View attachment 53606

This bred heifer just brought $7k. What does the AR mean in the pedigree? SM is Simmental, and AN is Angus, but even the online operator doesn't know what AR means.
Thanks, @Springfieldsimm!!!AR is red angus, CS is commercial Simmental
A son of a guy I know over on the Washington coast moved to Riverton a year and half ago or so. Last year he sent me some pictures of the son and him trail riding on a sunny winter day. I replied to him it wouldn't always be that nice. He replied telling me how it doesn't get cold in Riverton. Dry cold etc. I just let it ride because I know better.-22 when I went out the start the tractor this morning, and it came up to about -18 after I got done feeding.

Well we are in the banana belt here. Last year we had a couple days in January and February where it got down to -40. There were a lot of diesels that gelled up. I had my feed tractor gel up, and I was using the blended fuel. Fortunately we have not had anything that cold, well not yet anyway. We get those inversions and need some wind to blow that cold out.
