Will hormone shot abort fetus?

One of my cows mistakenly got pregnant by her own bull calf. Could you please tell me; if I have my A.I. tech give her a hormone shot to induce a heat will this abort the fetus and will he then be able to inseminate her with the intended semen? Thanks so much!

Lutalyse will cause her to abort and cycle. Your AI tech will either have it or can get it easily.

True as long as you haven't waited too long. If you are 90 days past the breeding the Lutalyse might not work, and if you are 120 days past it very likely will not work. So when did the calf breed her?

Lutalyse should be given 7 days post breeding, this will cause any CL to regress and her to short cylcle, do not breed on this heat, give her a second shot on day 13, if she did not show a heat.

Waiting past 90 days, she may not abort.
