Wife’s pet....

Help Support CattleToday:

99.9% any brindle gene or "wild type" longhorn cow has the horn gene no matter what you breed them to. I have blue roan cow that has amazing solid black calves horns every year regardless of sex.
Depends a lot upon your experience with "polled" animals and the odd horns. Some can't tell at all even to touch then late around 10 months get horns

Hereford left his mark. Dandy looking calf! Out of a heifer too! Did you have to help?

So being mamas pet, has she named the calf yet?

Replacement material? Or gonna be a steer?
Nope, she had her all by herself, all dried off and trying to stand up. No name yet, but I'm sure it wont be long. Going to keep her as a herd builder, plus, I'm curious to see how she develops. It's surprising how much milk Mom has.
