Why is it. ..

Help Support CattleToday:

Since this train left the tracks, I have a dead people story.

About 30 years ago, I was doing some work for a local air ambulance/on-demand air charter service. He also transported organs and deceased bodies.

I needed to fly to Denver and as luck would have, he needed to transport a dead body to Denver, so I hitched a ride.

I expected the body to be in a coffin, but the plane obviously wasn't big enough to get a coffin through the door, so the body was on special "stretcher" called a litter.

The plane was an unpressurized twin Cessna 411. As we climbed from 1,000 ft. elevation to 12,000 ft. I heard a fart. Steve the pilot started laughing. Turns out it wasn't him. There were noises coming from every orifice due to the pressure change. Sounded like the campfire scene in Blazing Saddles. It was a strange ride. Steve was laughing so hard, I thought I was going to have to fly the plane, and that wouldn't have been good.

He also "forgot" to strap the body to the litter, and the body started trying to sit up. Apparently that was big fun for him, to see the reactions from folks who had never experienced that.

I was advised to always wear matching bra and panties in case I was taken unconcious to the ER. Later as a nurse I found this was also a thing to do.

I remember as a kid the dead folks were at the house not the funeral home.
Family sat up with the dead. That was kinda spooky.
I was nine or ten and remember this event well. This was real spooky to me.
My uncle a very wealthy man owned a couple package stores on the Trinity County line. He was found by his daughter dead in he package store, he had been shot once in the chest and once in the head with a 45LC
The Trinity county sheriff ruled it suicide.
I was in the room when my marine uncle and dad undressed him to look at his wounds and called bull ****.
Some mountain folks here still sit with the dead at home or at a church. Family and friends gather.

Back to the subject of the thread.
I haven't figured out yet that when someone dies everyone is grieving, sad sorry that it happened then especially when a person isn't found right away everyone thinks how disturbing, disgusting, awful the body must be but then they go hang up and display skeletons and all kinds of creepy things in their yard. Trust me I'm on a search and rescue team and I have personally found human remains. It is no picnic and it disgusts me every Halloween of what is displayed, it's no wonder people don't have a problem killing others if they think stuff like that is cool.
Ok end of rant!

Hoping you had a Happy Samain!

I'll make a few Unicorns, balloons and rainbows for next year's Halloween.

BS??? duh, how could they call that suicide. Shot HIMSELF - - - - TWICE!!! Oh, I know - reflex made him pull trigger twice!

Ghost are invisible. If they want to be seen or noticed they throw a sheet over themselves. Thus dinosaur ghosts are not visible.
Least ways that is how it is in Oregon. :)
