Who's in your tank?

Help Support CattleToday:

I ordered another 20 Mead Magnitude yesterday for use next year, gotta get them while hopefully still available here. There has been a lot of positive stuff about him on facebook of late as well.

Ken
I don't think you will have any regrets. We are happy with our Magnitudes and we look forward to seeing what our Magnitude bull gives us. This will be his first season. We sure like his build.

Sounds great. I used to live in Whitehall, is where I went to high-school. Not far from both Sitz operations. I used to work my summers fixing irrigation pipe. Was probably one of my most favorite jobs i ever had. I do miss that country.
So I finally got you some pics of some stellars

I tried to secure some more Mead Magnitude for next year but got told none left and no more coming. I think I might add some Sitz Stellar instead. You don't hear of much bad stuff about Stellar.

I think is a good choice. We are using him to hopefully clean up a few bad feet.

So far we have been pleased with the Stellar calves. Nicely balanced and growing well. A few Stellar heifer calves pictured.
Nice looking ladies! I will be very pleased with results like that. Thank you for sharing the pictures.

Thank you to everyone for your responses. I love seeing everyone's cattle. Very nice livestock you all have. I also like seeing who people are using around the country, and the world for that matter. I just put cidrs in our heifers yesterday and we are going to be AI ing on Nov 29.

Just finished inseminating my last group today, the last 3 that calved I'm just going to let the bull have his way with them and I won't put patches on this group, just let the bull tell me who I missed. I try to get around them twice a day for at least another month to record in my diary who the bull is courting.

Ken

Just curious what straws are in the semen tanks for fall breeding. This year for us:
Tehama Patriarch
Raven Powerball
Sitz Stellar
EB Plus One
I just finished up by planned AI for this season today, I am running way behind. This year AI bulls will be:

Coleman Marshall 7170 reg# 19102287
SS Niagara Z29 reg# 17287387
Coleman Juneau 3345 reg# 17783596
SAV Rainfall 6846 reg# 18578963
Coleman Charlo 0256 reg# 16879074
Coleman Resolve 7219 reg#19102305
Gizmo D Boss D45 reg# 18807913
SAV Grass Roots 5282 reg# 18258137
On the commercial heifers I will use
Morgans Direction 111 reg# 14021056

I have all my AI supplies ordered the only thing were waiting on now is the embryologist schedule for the ET work. Setting up 18 recips this year for ET.

This will be my first time with AI, I have someone who is experienced to help me with everything. We start the synch protocol on Tuesday and breed the day after Thanksgiving. I'll be using Tehama Tahoe
It's one of the most rewarding things I have done with my cattle. It gives you a chance to try different things.
Also teaches you a lot about your cows. A couple years of it and you will know who's really fertile.

Not going to AI this fall but have purchased most of my semen for next spring. Angus sires Jansen Dow Jones, Stock Fund, Certified, Double Decker and Bloodline. Also bought semen on 2 Hereford sires.
