Whole cottonseed

Help Support CattleToday:

My winter feed is 5lbs of whole cotton seed per head with a little corn mixed in and all the hay they can eat. Cows keep good condition and hold up well. Only problem is here it's at $250 a ton now. Jumped almost $50 a ton from last year.

We have wcs in our commodity mix. Most people use cotton seed hulls but they pack in the truck feeder too much for me.

I called a feed mill and ask them to make me a mix I could feed yearlings and cows with wcs instead of cotton seed hulls. I buy in bulk and the feed with hulls packs in the overhead bin and truck feeder. It's my 3rd yr feeding it and I really like it. It's 10% cotton seed.

Name of feed company please.
