Whole Bunch of Photos

Here are some fairly recent photos of the calves. Some were taken today, a few a week or so ago.

This one is on the short list for next year's 4-H steer, he is sired by Gelbveih

Same calf, he really is black

Some more calves out of cows we bought, they are all Gelbveih sired

This little guy was the last one born, Gelbveih sired

Calves out of our own bulls, mostly Angus sired with a bit of Simmental/Angus and some Hereford thrown into the mix

Out of a Tarentaise x cow

One of my favorite old cows, her calf is Hereford sired

I'm guessing this one is out of the Simm/Angus bull, out of a Shorthorn x cow

Hereford cow bred either Angus or Simm/Angus

And Daughter, Angus sired.

One of my favorite heifer calves this year....

And a group photo op, 2 Gelbveih x calves and miss Curly's twin sister is the one laying down.

And we can't forget miss Curly

The hair caught on the barb wire is the first thing I noticed in that one. :lol:

Thanks everyone, we are pretty happy with the calves this year.

That fence is around a dugout, and is impossible to keep up. They rub on it and fight through it constantly. It is a never ending project.

Looks like it makes a pretty good comb for that winter coat too. :lol:

Great pics! Thanks for sharing. Really nice calves. We have the same fence problem. The barbs don't seem to deter them just make great scratchers. It's never ending.
