I have a bull calf 5 mo old that got white hairless spots on his head, he was penned with a young heifer & now she has them on her head & legs , He is starting to grow back some hair in the spots, I was told this is warts?? & it has to run its course nothing I could do, Is this true?? does not look like a wart to me , I have wormed & they are vacc. How contagious is this can I remove them & put other cattle in the pen without infecting them?? Is there a remedy for this?? THANKS!!

I would vote for either warts or ringworm. Without seeing them I'm no good at making more accurate guesses.

I'm gonna have to agree with dun on this...could be ringworm.

BTW, welcome to the boards, TPS.

Yup me too, its most likely ring worm. No big deal treat it with iodine. It will run its corse.

I'm not so sure I would automatically assume it was ringworm, warts can also cause white, hairless spots as dun has already stated.
