Has anyone hunted elk in the White Mountain Wilderness?I am saving my coins to do an elk hunt.Reading the info on it,you must be in top physical condition,best shape of your life to hunt in the most rugged and almost brutal terrain.Climbing 4000 to 8000 vertical feet,covering 5 to 7 miles chasing elk.I think you would have to do training 4 to 6 months in advance before you try this.They say the bulls are huge,monsters.I can't see going through life without doing this.Not sure if I would be up to ever doing a Kodiak hunt some day.Looking at a 9' 1800 lb bear that see you as his next meal :shock:.Please gun don't fail me now.
