I am more of a revolver person but i have springfield xd 9mm and realy like everything about it. before i had a p99 walther and i am not saying that all of them are like mine was but it would never make any kind of a group at anything more than 10 feet and jamed 1 or 2 out of 10 i worked with it for three years trying difrent ammo takeing it apart and cleaning it and anything else that can be done nothing ever helped. so from my expierence i would buy a xd or a browning hi power.
I have also seen the jamming problem in Walther.
Been a long time back and I don't remember the exact gun, but it just gave me a bad impression of Walther. I know James, 007, would disagree.

Just bought the wife a Taurus pt111 millennium pro.
Compact 10 rnd, in 9mm. She's happy with it but I don't care for the 2 stage trigger.
But it's a good shooter once you get past the long pull.

That was the other thing i didn't like about the p99 it had that long pull 2 stage. seems like it should have been a prety good gun but realy wasan't.
