hello everyone outhere. i was hoping someone could give me some insight on this next question. What happens if you put in a bull with cows that just calved. I've heard 30-45 days but what if you don't have a choice. Will they get bred by the bull 30, 45, 6o or 90 days after anyways.

Welcome! :welcome:

They will get bred when they cycle. I would wait 60 days after calving to put the bull in so they can recover. But if you have no choice then they will get bred when they cycle (if they are in good body condition). I have had cows to cycle a week or two after calving and conceive on that heat . Some cows won't come in until a month or two later.

thanks for the info, i wasn't sure wether this would create a problem for the cow or not. i suppose the cow will get bred wether is on her first heat cycle or third; rihgt?
