I got a 375 pound bull calf from the sale barn Wed. I know he is stressed so when can I give him his shots and castrate him? Which is better Knife or Clamp castration? Why? THANKS

This is my method, for what it is worth. When I buy at the sale barn I go straight to the vet. The vet will castrate them, give the shots and whatever else I want done. Then I just load them back up and take them to the pasture. I have found this to be much easier than doing it myself, since the vet is on my route to the pasture and the cost is not very much considering the time and effort saved. So far none have suffered any shock or misfortune from the experience.
