I've got a question about custom grazing calves on wheat. I've done stockers before on wheat but never have I had anyone take any in for me on the gain because I usually have plenty of wheat but this is not the case this year as I have summer crops on places I would have planted for grazing. My question is how do I go about figuring a fair price and what type of agreements do some of you do with guys that take in your calves. The guy taking them in this is his first time too. In north central Oklahoma btw

Iirc, 50 cents a pound on the gain?
Heck i dont even remember now. Lol
Someone told me that was too high.
But at 50 cents a pound, I figure that gave me at least 70 cents a pound extra, on the gained pounds, when I sold em..

He even let me pay for the gain when I sold the calves. Worked for both of us.

Ok thank you! Were you supplying bloat blocks or was he? Who was in charge of checking/watering etc?

He watered and supplied bloat blocks.
We ran my calves with his.
He/they did most of the checking, but I checked occasionally as well.
Only had one get out on the loose. And of coarse it was mine. I did all the walking. He herded with the truck. Lol
