Angus are not any purer than any other breed. Their genetic base today decends from the white udderd big cannon boned angus of the seventies.
Their breeders have done a better job through the nineties of changing with the times. Will they keep it up or do we already see the enrodes of single trait selection. If you look at their carcas data that is advertised in sale catalogues the ribeye per cwt has been going down to where one square inch per hundred weight seems to be the magic threshold. YG3.9 wont work very well many more years.
