What's the best milking breed of beef cattle?

I think Shorthorn would be the leader amoung the mainstream British Breeds (the only one that also can be used as a dairy animal (milking shorthorn)) however that may not be the case now that they're appendix program has allowed Maine Anjou and other breeds to take over some of the genetics.

For the mainstream exotics, I'd say Simmental followed by Gelbvieh. I've always considered Gelbviehs to be "Limmys with Milk" but I'm sure that statement would probably offend hardcore Gelbvieh and hardcore Limousin breeders equally.
