What to charge my dad

Help Support CattleToday:

my dad runs a few cows in with mine and we split the vet bills, feed, hay ect. and when we sell his calves he gives me half.we are both happy with this.i do all the labor.putting out hay, ect.

My father-in-law (who passed away) was charged 1 calf per every third calf drop. Amazingly he retain all heifers, and the rancher got all bull calves. Rancher looked over all cattle- about 15-20 head. Father-in-law went to the ranch once or twice every 4-6 weeks. He gave the rancher clothing, food for dogs, himself, etc. BUT keep in mind that these two guys had been friends since childhood. The same deal applies to the widow. She now has about 30 head.
