Our county is 50%, up to 8k I believe.....

So spend 8k, they reim 4k of qualifying farm upgrades and or animals

Our county Pulaski is one of the largest in state......maybe too many applicants and not enough money. Its always been 50% and seldom over 1000-1100 dollars reim.

On a positive note our NRCS has done a great job of getting equipment for farmers to rent especially equipment that is just not affordable for the average farmer. For example ....they now have 2 pretty new post drivers and they stay busy about all the time....they are probably $15k each. Also a boomless sprayer, lime spreader, dump trailer, and other stuff I can't think of.
I've been trying to get them to get a manure spreader but they haven't yet. I could use one for about a day or two and thats it.
Maybe in the future.

Could be a distinction between beef and dairy cattle. From what I have always understood Wisconsin has been the largest dairy producing state until recently surpassed by California. Ky used to have several dairies throughout the state, not many right in my area though. A lot of those are not milking now, have switched to crops and or beef cattle. I'm sure we never had the numbers of dairy cattle that Wisconsin has.

Very true!
Here is list of beef cattle by state.
